The Challenge

Where It Started

Designed a Disaster Recovery-ready architecture on Microsoft Azure spanning multiple Availability Zones with Traffic Manager, geo-replicated SQL and automatic failover.

Problems
  • Single-region deployment — one outage takes down the whole platform
  • No automatic failover during regional incidents
  • Database had no geo-redundancy
  • No global traffic routing to nearest healthy region

  • Multi-zone AKS node pools across availability zones

AKS & Traffic Manager Rollout

Geo-Replication & Failover Testing
Configured Azure SQL geo-replication and ran simulated zone-failure drills to validate automatic failover.
Week 6
Handover & Documentation
Finalized monitoring, documented failover runbooks and handed the fully tested HA system over to the client team.
